Would you like to find some simple ways to preserve family memories?
Busy family life goes by so fast, and finding time to organise all those photos or capture a precious moment can sometimes be tricky.
These fun ideas for preserving family memories will make it easier to tackle the job, and help you celebrate and relive the good times in lots of different ways.

Organise your photos in books
This is a brilliant way to make the most of all those family photos on your phone and computer.
Getting into the habit of regularly printing a photo book will give you easy access to those cherished family memories. A photo book works well for a particular event such as a holiday or birthday celebration, but you can also create a more general book for each year to capture the day-to-day family fun. A photo book makes a lovely gift for the grandparents too.

Create a gallery wall
Gallery walls have been a popular interiors trend for a while now, and it’s not hard to see why. A gallery wall allows you to create a unique display of pictures that fits your wall space perfectly and really makes an impact.
A gallery wall format is ideal for displaying your favourite family photos. You can mix them in with art prints, or just stick to photos. You can also play around with different sizes, frame styles, and black and white or colour prints to complement your room’s decor.
Another great benefit of preserving family memories in a gallery wall is that it’s quick and easy to update the pictures if you feel like a change.

Send a personalised card
It’s so easy to create personalised cards these days. Creating a card with a family picture and a personalised message is a simple, low-cost way to share your memories with other family members.
You could have a family Christmas jumper photoshoot to create Christmas cards, use a picture of the kids on their birthday to create thankyou cards for gifts, or simply design a unique card for a birthday, mother’s day or father’s day. Bonusprint’s range of personalised cards has lots of nice templates that you can use.

Keep a family diary or scrapbook
This is perfect if you and the kids like crafting or journaling. Recording your memories in a diary, or building up a scrapbook with things like pictures, drawings, letters and ticket stubs, are both fantastic ways to capture those priceless moments. Encouraging the kids to record their experiences will help to develop their language skills too.
A diary or scrapbook works particularly well for specific events such as a family trip, Christmas, or school holidays. Choosing some nice stationery and art supplies to use will help to make the project fun, and result in a gorgeously personal record of your family adventures.

Design a photo calendar
How about preserving those family memories in a calendar that you can use every day?
Similar to a photo book, a photo calendar allows you to design a display of family memories that’s easy to access. We make one of these every year for the grandparents; it’s a lovely way to record everything the kids have been up to in the previous year. The calendar element makes it a really useful gift too.

Display children’s artwork
If you’ve got an impressive collection of the kids’ artwork, putting some of it on display is a great way to capture a moment in time.
You could include one of their drawings in a gallery wall, organise their artwork in a ring binder, or even laminate it to create coasters and placemats.
Another nice way to include kids artwork in your family memories is to scan it to create a digital image, this can then be used in your photo books, calendars and personalised cards.

Update your computer screensaver and wallpaper
You’ve probably got thousands of family photos on your computer, so put them to good use!
Use your favourite photos as your computer wallpaper, and update your screensaver to show a slideshow of your pics too. Spending a few minutes getting these setup will give you another way to enjoy those family memories, even when you have to focus on work.

Interview the kids
This is a really fun option if your kids love being on camera. Press record, and chat to them about whatever you’ve been up to as a family.
It’s a good idea to have a few areas in mind to ask them about. What they’ve been learning at school, places they’ve visited, and special events such as birthdays are all great options. It’s nice to also ask them some random questions too; try things like their favourite animal or food, or some fun ‘would you rather’ questions to get them thinking.
Once you’ve finished your interview, make sure you save it to a place where you can watch it easily. If you have any video editing software on your phone or computer, you could get creative with titles and effects to make it even more fun to watch.
This way of preserving family memories is perfect for creating a snapshot of the kids as they grow. If you make a little video on a regular basis, you’ll have a fantastic record of what was important to them at each age, which is so precious to look back on. And when they’re all grown up you can have a good giggle watching them together!
I hope these tips have given you lots of ideas for easy ways to preserve family memories, and help you to enjoy those wonderful moments time and time again. Have you got a top tip for preserving family memories to add to the list?
