On Good Friday we spent a lovely afternoon at our local Wyevale Garden Centre as special guests of the Easter Bunny. We had such a great time!
Wyevale Garden Centres run regular family events throughout the year, and for Easter you can visit your local centre for Breakfast or Tea with the Easter Bunny, with lots of fun activities included for the kids. The event costs £9.99 per child, and £3.99 or £7.99 per adult, depending on your choice of food.
We visited the Findern branch near Burton upon Trent. When we arrived we were greeted with a scene from the Mad Hatter’s tea party in the cafe, and shown to our Queen of Hearts table by the Hatter himself.

While we waited for our food the kids got busy with Easter activity sheets, with staff on-hand to fill up our drinks.

Our food arrived really quickly; the kids tucked into sausage, chips and beans, while the adults were presented with this plate of loveliness…

Children can choose from a hot or cold meal (this needs to be specified at the time of booking), while adults can choose from traditional afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes, or cake and tea/coffee. All the food is freshly prepared and was really tasty.
We hadn’t told the kids what they could expect from our visit, so they didn’t know what was coming next. It was so lovely seeing their faces light up when the Easter bunny arrived!

Each child receives a super-cute cuddly toy and a bag of mini chocolate eggs from the Easter bunny, as well as a little cuddle if they want one! It was a nice touch that there were a few different cuddly toys to choose from, so kids can pick their favourite. Our two are now the proud owners of a bunny brother and sister.

The fun kept on coming, with all the children joining the Easter bunny on an egg hunt around the garden centre. Off we all went with our treat bags in hand, there were a few surprised looks from other customers when they saw us coming!

When we returned to our tables there was another surprise waiting for the kids; Easter cookies to decorate.

Each child was given their own icing tube and sprinkles, so there was no squabbling over who was using what. Obviously it became a contest about who could get the most icing onto their cookie!

Once the kids were done decorating they could eat their creations, or take a cake box to safely transport them home. The staff really did think of everything to make the grown-up’s experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
And then it was time to wave goodbye to the Easter bunny and the Mad Hatter and head home.

We had a really lovely family afternoon at Wyevale. The food, the materials used for the activities, the staff costumes, and the kids’ gifts were all high quality, and the whole event felt really generous. The activities were well-paced, and the lovely attentive staff made the whole experience really relaxed and fun. It felt like a treat for all of us – and I managed to squeeze in a quick visit to the garden centre to stock up on seeds too!
The Wyevale Easter event is taking place until 28th March at participating garden centres, head over to their website for more information and to make a booking.
And remember Wyevale run all sorts of family events throughout the year as part of their ‘Little Diggers’ programme; check out the events section of the website for more details.
We were given complimentary tickets for the Wyevale Easter event in exchange for a review. All opinions are honest and genuine.
