Socks can be so boring, can’t they?
A quick glance into the sock collection of each member of my family tells me one thing straight away: the kids have all the fun. My four year old’s socks are a riot of colour, pattern and characters, and my nine year old’s collection isn’t really any more restrained. Move onto my wardrobe, and while there is an element of colour to my socks, on the whole they are low-key, with very little to grab your attention. And then we get to my husband’s sock drawer, which is black, black, black.
Now I do think there are times when we all need sensible socks, but I also think there’s room to have a little fun too. What other item of clothing allows you to be a little bit silly in such an understated way? We’ve been having a giggle reviewing Chattyfeet socks this week, and they’ve definitely put smiles on our faces.
Gil and Humberto, the brains behind Chattyfeet, have created a range of character socks which is bright, in-your-face and fun. Every design is available in adult and child sizes too; so the whole family can co-ordinate, clash, or even put on a sock puppet show if they feel like it!
We let the kids choose their own design, and also ours. Sam went for a touch of the macabre with Mr. Zukkato, and chose Commander Awesome for his dad, while Lily wanted us both to have Meggy (she was my favourite too!)

Chattyfeet are made from combed cotton and the quality is really nice; they’re lovely and soft, and very easy to slip on and off. And there are no bulky seams to annoy your toes – a big plus for me as both my kids get really frustrated when their socks ‘feel wrong’ on their toes. They wash well too.
Each design is printed on the top and bottom of the sock, so you can see it from any angle – this is particularly brilliant for sock puppet shenanigans…

Chattyfeet are a little bit of fun in the form of quality, comfortable socks – and the fact that the whole family has a pair means we’ve got our own sock gang. They’d make a great little present (remember Father’s Day isn’t that far off), I can see how they’d become rather collectible too.
